Westmeath County Council is launching a public consultation on the Proposed Variation No. 1 of its County Development Plan 2021-2027.
A 'drop-in' public information session is taking place in Mullingar this evening.
This variation aims to incorporate a Settlement Area Plan for Mullingar and integrate new national planning guidelines from the 2024 Sustainable Residential Development and Compact Settlements policy.
It will provide a framework to guide Mullingar’s sustainable growth, aligning local planning with updated Specific Planning Policy Requirements.
Documents, including the Strategic Environmental Assessment and Natura Impact Report, are available online and at the Council offices in Mullingar until 13 August 2025.
The public is encouraged to submit feedback online or in writing by the 5pm deadline on Wednesday, 13 August.
A Public Drop-In Session will be held at Mullingar Library today from 4pm-8pm to provide further information and engage with residents.
