The recruitment process is officially underway for staff to operate the long-awaited MRI Machine in Mullingar Hospital.
The scanner is the result of six years of fundraising and, despite being ready itself, there have been delays with staff to man the machine.
However, staff positions are now being advertised, and some have been filled.
Chairman of the Friends of the Mullingar Hospital, John McGrath, who raised funds for the machine, says this facility could save the hospital €1m per year:
