Over the past week, commencing 08/12/2025, Revenue officers seized contraband with an estimated value of over €243,190 in various operations in Dublin, the Midlands, and Rosslare Europort.
The detections were made as a result of risk profiling and intelligence led operations, and included the following:
- 5.332kg of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of almost €106,640,
- Various other illicit drugs, with an estimated value of €7,870,
- Tobacco products, with an estimated value of over €1,575, and representing a potential loss to the exchequer of over €1,220,
- Over 295.15 litres of alcohol with an estimated value of almost €4,105, representing a potential loss to the exchequer of over €2,300,
- 139 weapons, with an estimated value of almost €1,905, and
- 322 counterfeit items with an estimated value of almost €121,100.
The herbal cannabis and illicit drug seizures were made as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dog Sam. The parcels originated from the USA, GB, France, Italy and India were destined for various addresses nationwide.
The counterfeit goods were seized as they were confirmed by the Rights Holder to have infringed on Intellectual Property Rights. 139 weapons were also seized.
Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.

The alcohol consisted of wine, beer and spirits.
The tobacco products were branded Marlboro Red Long & Darium Cherry, Drum & Philip Morris Green, Hookah, L&M Red Cigarettes, and L&M Blue Cigarettes.
The various illicit drugs consisted of heroin, cannabis oil, cannabis resin, diazepam, hemp, khat, zolpidem, zopiclone, cannabinoid vapes, kratom powder, reefers, grow kits containing psilocybin, psilocin drops.
The counterfeit goods were Rolex, Ugg, Chanel, Nike, Polo, Canada Goose, Stone Island, Louis Vuitton, New Balance, Burberry, Christian Dior, Omega, North Face, Lululemon and Gucci.
The weapons consisted of throwing trident shaped shuriken, throwing cross shaped shuriken, Tokyo Marui M4A1 airsoft rifle & magazine, samurai sword, butterfly knife, kukri, nun chucks, air rifle, airsoft magazines & silencer, shotgun cartridges.
