The seizures include suspected cannabis with a street value of €40k.
Over the past week, commencing 05/01/2026, Revenue officers seized contraband with an estimated value of over €154,160 in various operations in the Midlands, Dublin and Rosslare Europort.
The detections were made as a result of risk profiling and intelligence led operations, and included the following:
- 6.1kg of cannabis resin, with an estimated value of over €40,015,
- Various other illicit drugs, with an estimated value of over €7,885,
- Tobacco products, with an estimated value of over €28,155, representing a potential loss to the exchequer of almost €20,600,
- Over 58 litres of alcohol with an estimated value of almost €805, representing a potential loss to the exchequer of almost €460, and
- 324 counterfeit items with an estimated value of over €77,305.
The herbal cannabis and illicit drug seizures were made as a result of risk profiling. The parcels originated from the USA, the UK, Canada, Thailand, and India were destined for various addresses nationwide.
The counterfeit goods were seized as they were confirmed by the Rights Holder to have infringed on Intellectual Property Rights. Three weapons were also seized.
Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.
