Failte Ireland says more funded projects will be announced in the coming weeks.
Failte Ireland is announcing over €1m in fresh Just Transition funding for the midlands.
This marks the first announcement of successful projects under the Private and Community SME scheme, which closed on 13th January.
€550,000 is being granted for two glamping hut projects in Laois.
While €300,000 is being made available for the conversion of disused buildings into self-catering cottages in Westmeath.
With just under €50,000 granted for accommodation Chalets.
In Offaly three different projects are being supported.
Tourism bikes are being funded to the tune of €168,000.
There's €41,000 for fly fishing tours on the River Shannon.
While a project that would see the redevelopment of farm outbuildings into low carbon self-catering accommodation, is getting €13,000.
The seven projects are among 17 being supported through the Private and Community SME Scheme, worth almost €2.9m.
Failte Ireland says more projects are expected to be announced on a rolling basis in the coming weeks and months, as evaluations of applications are completed.
