Gardaí in the midlands have arrested a man.
Gardaí have been investigating an armed robbery in Laois.
A person entered a shop in Portarlington and threatened staff with a knife before taking money from the till.
The incident took place on Wednesday.
An individual was arrested the next day and has been subsequently charged and remanded in custody.
