Met Éireann has issued two status yellow thunderstorm warnings.
The first is active at the moment and concerns Laois, Offaly, Westmeath, Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Louth, Meath and Wicklow until 4pm.
Its second alert for rain and thunderstorms in Clare, Kerry, Limerick and Galway begins at 7pm.
Those counties may see surface water flooding, lightning damage and difficult travelling conditions overnight.
