Three Irish MEPs Welcome Brexit Extension

One is recommending keeping Mr. Johnson away from ditches.

Three Irish MEPs are welcoming the European Council president's decision to recommend a Brexit extension.

Last night, British MPs rejected Boris Johnson's timetable to debate the Withdrawal Agreement, saying it was being fast-tracked.

The European Council president, Donald Tusk, is advising EU leaders to accept an extension until January, to avoid a 'no-deal' scenario.

Midlands-Northwest MEPs Matt Carthy and Luke 'Ming' Flanagan support his call, along with Ireland South's Sean Kelly.

Meanwhile, Sinn Féin's Matt Carthy says that the uncertainty of a Brexit extension is better than the certain disaster of a no-deal:

But the British Prime Minister is still insisting he doesn't want any further delays:

Independent MP Dominic Grieve, who had the Conservative whip removed, says Mr. Johnson needs to get on with the job:
