Work is expected to be completed at two of them in the coming months.
Three fire stations in Laois are undergoing infrastructural upgrades.
Work is underway at the station in Mountrath - a new 4x4 garage and fire service drill tower are being built, at a cost of 130,000 euro.
Meanwhile in Abbeyleix, work is due to commence shortly on a new trench rescue training facility, which will cost 30,000 euro.
Planning and design is underway for the Mountmellick Station upgrade - the 150,000 euro project consists of a new drill tower and concrete yard.
