Weapons were also found during searches in the midlands.
Three men have been arrested in Westmeath for allegedly making threats to kill and cause harm.
One man in his 40's and two in their 20's are being held in Athlone and Mullingar Garda Stations as part of an investigation into threats being made on social media.
A number of weapons including a machete and electronic devices were also seized by the Regional Support Unit during searches on two houses in Athlone.
The men can be held for up to 24 hours.
Gardaí in Athlone are liaising with the PSNI in relation to the persons arrested and the social media videos as may be connected to a recent serious incident in Co. Fermanagh, which is under investigation by the PSNI.
