The event takes place in Abu Dhabi later this year.
Designs by three midlands schools have been chosen for the Junk Kouture World Final.
Clodagh Ramsey and Dimo Tate will represent Wilson’s Hospital School with their outfit 'Bohemian Pampas Tree'.
The living dress requires daily water, air and light and is made from pampas grass, moss and black grass.
Meanwhile, Tale of Two Pods' by Kate Molloy, Eimear Keenan and Samantha Irwin of Moate Community School, is made from 3,000 coffee pods, a broken umbrella, old heels and an old Debs dress.
Alison Dalton, Emma Touhy and Orlaith McNamara from Scoil Chríost Rí, Portlaoise, will be flying the flag for Laois, with their design made out of over 100,000 tiny Styrofoam beads found in an old beanbag chair and inspired by designer Zac Posen.
Nine groups in total were chosen by judges Louis Walsh, Roz Purcell, Soulé and Stephen McLaughlin, at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, for to go to the World Final in Abu Dhabi later this year.
