The developer behind a massive residential and commercial proposal in the midlands says it wants to bring life back to the town.
Cayenne Holdings is seeking planning permission for 204 apartments and 20 commercial and retail units on lands between Patrick Street and Kilbride Street in Tullamore.
The Distillery Yard and DE Williams House project will see the provision of new cafés, restaurants, and a childcare facility, if given the green light.
Anthony Kane, of Cayenne Holdings, says they want the site to be busy from 9am until midnight:
The developer says a 13-storey apartment block is needed to make the properties affordable.
Seamus Kane, also of Cayenne Holdings says they didn't want to create a site like those seen in Ballymun, with six blocks of apartments, each six-storeys high.
He says he understands people in the town may have concerns with the height of the development:
