
Four Athlone Councillors have been locked in a long running legal battle with the State.
The councillors behind a legal challenge to a planned IPAS centre in Westmeath are demanding the Housing Minister deal with their prohibition order for the centre.
Athlone reps Paul Hogan, Aengus O'Rourke, Frankie Keena and John Dolan secured the order against the delivery of a 1,000 person asylum seeker centre in Athlone on environmental grounds.
The State has been arguing against it since - It's expected the government will produce corrective legislation in November
They now want Westmeath County Council to write to the Housing Department requesting the order be enforced.
