The local authority say the situation will be corrected in 2025.
Staffing issues were the sole cause for a lack of risk based environmental inspections at Westmeath County Council in 2024.
That's according to its Senior Engineer in the Environment and Climate Action Rural Water section Ambrose Clarke.
It follows the EPA ranking Westmeath County Council as the worst performing local authority in the country on environmental issues.
Sufficient resources for water, air, and noise enforcement were also not allocated according to the report.
Mr Clarke says they'll improve the figures for 2025:
