A Westmeath man is being awarded with a Certificate of Bravery and a Silver Medal for saving the life of a child.
Mark Kelly from Mullingar pulled a toddler from inside a burning house from an upstairs window in 2021.
He noticed the home had caught fire while working in a housing estate, along with his colleague Pat Weymes, who also received a Certificate of Bravery and a Bronze Medal.
The ceremony is being held in Phoenix Park today, with 23 individuals presented with awards for their services by Ceann Comhairle, Sean Ó Fearghaíl.
