Churches in Castletown Geoghegan and Kilbeggan were attacked over the weekend.
A Longford-Westmeath TD says he is 'appalled' by an arson attack on two Midlands churches.
On Friday morning somebody attempted to set Castletown Geoghegan and Kilbeggan churches on fire, burning the front doors.
Fianna Fáil's Robert Troy attended Mass in Castletown Geoghegan on Sunday morning where he spoke with parishioners and Fr Barry about the incident.
Councillor Liam McDaniel has contacted An Garda Síochána, who confirmed they are following a line of enquiries.
Anyone with information is being urged to contact Gardaí.
Minister Troy says the community is upset as the churches are a sacred place:
A Midlands priest has to put in place overnight security after an arson attack on two of his churches.
Fr Barry Condron from Tyrellspass oversees Castletown Geoghegan and Kilbeggan parishes, which were both set on fire on Friday morning.
The front doors of the churches were both burnt, with Gardai appealing to people for information on the incidents.
Fr Condron says it's unfortunately part of a growing trend:
