Athlone Suffer Back-To-Back Home League Defeats

The Town remain fourth in the League of Ireland First Division.

Athlone Town made it back-to-back home defeats after their 3-2 loss to Cobh Ramblers on Friday night.

Liam Kervick gave the Cork side a 24th minute lead, before the midland's side responded through strikes from Frantz Pierrot and Matthew Leal.

However, two goals in the space of five minutes from Pierce Phillips and a 83rd minute winner from Wilson Waweru secured Cobh victory.

Dario Castelo's side remain fourth in the table on goal difference ahead of Bray, six points behind Cobh in third.

The Town travel to sixth place Wexford Youths on Friday night.
