Mr Shelly has previously worked in Australia and New Zealand.
Athlone Town have confirmed that Brian Shelly is the clubs new Technical Director.
He will be leading the implementation of a new Player Development Pathway Plan, developing players and coaches from within the club.
Mr Shelly comes into the role off the back of 15 years experience, having worked in Australia and New Zealand, as well as his career in the League of Ireland.
