The Barrowsiders' draw with DCU was enough in yesterday's Electric Ireland Fitzgibbon Cup
IT Carlow manager, DJ Carey says he is happy with the fight his players showed in their draw with DCU in Dublin.
The result means they’ll host defending champions, UCC in the Electric Ireland Fitzgibbon Cup Quarter Final next week.
3-10 to 2-13 the final score, a draw enough for the Barrowsiders to top the group while DCU go out.
Carlow’s Martin Kavanagh, Wexford’s Seamus Casey and Kilkenny’s Niall Brassil netting for the Barrowsiders while Kilkenny’s Richie Lawler and Dublin’s Sean Currie got the goals for the hosts.
Abbeyleix's Enda Rowland, Ballinakill's Sean Downey, The Harps' Podge Delaney, Clough/Ballacolla's Stephen Bergin, Camross' Eoin Gaughan, Castletown's Shane Phelan, filled out the Carlow side from Laois, while Clodiagh Gael's Conor Langton represented Offaly for the away team.
Manager DJ Carey says his team did well to survive a late rally by DCU:
