Izuchukwu Returns To Ulster Training

The Tullamore lock has been on the sidelines since last year.

Offaly's Cormac Izuchukwu has returned to training with Ulster. 

The Tullamore man has been on the sidelines since rupturing his cruciate ligament last year. 

The time-frame for recovering from such an injury is between eight and 11 months., with the 6'7" lock under contract with Dan McFarland's side until 2023. 

He made the move north in May 2020 and became a prominent feature in their academy set up.

Izuchukwu previously played Sevens and narrowly missed out on a place in last season's U-20 Ireland Six Nations squad due to injury. 

Matty Rea and Jordi Murphy have also recovered from their respective injuries, and resume team training this week. 

However, prop Marty Moore has been ruled out of Friday’s United Rugby Championship meeting with Connacht. 

He sustained a concussion in last weekend’s game with the Scarlets. 

Ulster have also confirmed that prop Declan Moore will join on a permanent deal from Munster in the summer. 

Scrum-half David Shanahan has signed a two-year extension, Ben Moxham earns a senior contract, and Jude Postlethwaite signs a Development deal. 

The northern side go up against Connacht in the United Rugby Championship this Friday.
