A Mullingar Harrier family is reflecting on a history making 2025 as we approach the new year.
Aisling Lane's victory in the National Senior Racewalking Championships earlier this month meant the family had become the first to win national titles through father, son, and daughter.
The 19 year old hit the 20km finish line comfortably ahead of her principle Irish rival at the World Athletics Tour Racewalking event in St Anne’s Park, in Raheny Dublin.
The event doubled up as the Irish Championships for seniors, under 20s and masters.
Lane's brother Oisin continued his dominance of the men's field winning double gold by taking the national 20k championship, as well as winning the World Tour Half Marathon event.
While their father and coach Michael is a multiple race walking champion.
