A lack of forward planning is being cited as one of the main reasons behind the county's struggles.
Laois GAA have a "systemic" problem on their hands when it comes to the county's footballers.
That's the view of Midlands 103 commentator Jack Nolan after today's news that Billy Sheehan is stepping down from his position as Laois Senior Football Manager.
The county board have stated they'll now be setting up an appointments committee to search for Sheehan's successor.
Nolan says that regardless of who does get the job, long term development needs to be prioritised.
