Ireland are still looking for their first medal in Olympic Golf.
Shane Lowry has officially qualified for the Olympics after the post-US Open deadline passed on Sunday.
The Clara man will be playing alongside Rory McIlroy as the pair aim to secure a first Irish medal in the sport.
Lowry finished in a tie for 10th at the last games in Tokyo, while McIlroy missed out on bronze after a play-off.
If either player were to pullout of the competition at the former Ryder Cup venue, Le Golf National, Seamus Power would step in.
Both Leona Maguire and Stephanie Meadow loos almost certain to represent Ireland in the Women's event.
The action tees off on August 1st.
