In the Laois Senior Hurling Championship, there were wins for Rathdowney Errill and Clough/Ballacolla over Ballinakill and The Harps respectively.
Borris in Ossory Kilcotton drew with Rosenallis and Camross eventually ran out comfortable winners over Castletown. Clough/Ballacolla top their group, followed by Camross, then Castletown, then The Harps.
There were four games down for decision in the final group games in the Offaly football championship, Tullamore were clear winners over Cappincur to maintain their 100 per cent record. Edenderry similarly overcame Durrow with minimal fuss. Rhode beat Clara in Bord na Mona O'Connor Park, Ferbane overcame Shamrocks in a game marred by a bad injury to Shamrocks player Kieran Doolan.
