Offaly SHC Preview: Birr v St Rynagh's

Both sides have produced mixed performances in the championship so far.

Birr meet St Ryangh's in the Offaly Senior Hurling Championship quarter-finals this weekend.

Gary Cahill's Birr had a solid campaign through the group phase of the competition, being the only club to avoid defeat to an in-form Ballinamere.

Their championship opener against the eventual group toppers finished in a draw.

Victories over Kinnitty and Belmont, and a defeat to Shinrone saw them finish third in Group One.

St Ryangh's finished tied on four points with both Coolderry and Seir Kieran.

Jeffrey Lynskey's first championship campaign over the club saw them mix a heavy loss to Kilcormac-Killoughey and a defeat at the hands of Clareen, with victories over Coolderry and Tullamore.

The action in O'Connor Park throws in at 4.30pm on Saturday afternoon.
