Kavanagh's Portlaoise Panthers are recovering from their first defeat in five games in the InsureMyVan.ie National League First Division last weekend.
The Laois club were beaten by SETU Carlow in overtime at the Barrow Centre on Saturday on a final scoreline of 103 to 100.
The Panthers lost despite Ravel Moody and Kerry Richardson scoring a combined 77 points over the course of the contest.
Moody scored late in normal time to force overtime, but Lawrence Summers drew a late foul for SETU to claim a late and dramatic win in Carlow.
The Panthers still lead their Conference and the Division standings, but will be looking at a Drogheda Wolves side that have games in hand are within striking distance.
