Championships start this morning
Ireland have sent a 19 strong team to the European short-course championships in Glasgow and the action starts this morning.
Shane Ryan from Laois will be spearheading the Irish team challenge although he is not in action today.
He won a bronze medal in the World Championships earlier in the year in the 50 meters backstroke.
His father hails from Portarlington.
He will be starting his championship campaign tomorrow.
