Van Gerwen hammers Bunting
Fallon Sherrock's ground-breaking challenge at the PDC World Championship ended with a third-round defeat to world number 22 Chris Dobey.
Sherrock, who had made history by becoming the first woman to win a match at the tournament, was beaten by four sets to two.
The 25-year-old led 1-0 and 2-1, only for Dobey to recover and win.
Dobey will play Glen Durrant, a former BDO three time champion, who beat the last surviving Irishman Daryl Gurney 4-2, in the last 16.
Simon Whitlock is also through to the fourth round after a 4-1 victory over Mervyn King.
Whitlock will play Gerwyn Price, who beat John Henderson 4-0.
In two fourth round matches, defending champion Michael van Gerwen hammered Stephen Bunting 4-0, while two-time world champion Gary Anderson was knocked out following a 4-2 defeat by Nathan Aspinall.
