European Tour will be 'profoundly different' when it returns warns chief.
European Tour chief executive Keith Pelley has warned professionals on the circuit that there will be much reduced prize money and a major cut in incomes when the tour resumes.
Pelley e-mailed all professionals on the European Tour this week to tell them that the landscape will be much changed when the tour re-starts in terms of prize money and income. He says that the advent of the coronavirus pandemic is going 'to have a profound impact on the tour financially'
So far this year 14 European Tour events have been cancelled this year including the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open and the first three majors of the year.
Pelley says that it is the intention of the European Tour to'play as many events as is possible before the end of the year' given that they will get the green light to resume activity when public health advice supports it.
