'We Just Have To Shift Our Focus To Kenya' - Jordan Conroy

The Tullamore man has another chance to impress tomorrow.

Tullamore's Jordan Conroy wasted little time in moving on from Ireland's disappointing day one of the Mens Sevens in Tokyo. 

Defeats to South Africa and the USA mean Anthony Eddy's side have a difficult task to qualify for the knockout stages.

They will have to hope they can progress as one of the best placed 3rd placed teams from the three pools. 

To do so Ireland will require all the try scoring prowess that the Offaly winger displayed in becoming the leading scorer on the HSBC Sevens series in 2020.

That crucial game with Kenya begins at 3am Irish time. 

Speaking to the media following the game against the United States, Conroy said:

'I don't think that game reflects how we play. It was a bit annoying and frustrating at times so I think we have a lot more to give so we have to shift our focus onto tomorrow to Kenya and see what we need to do and execute it. 

You don't win anything on day one so tomorrow is the big one so all eyes on that.

That is just the luck of the draw isn't it. We play all of these teams every week on the World Series so we know what we have to do to beat them. 

We just didn't do it today so as I say...It's the luck of the draw I suppose.'
