Westmeath will face their neighbours for only the second time in championship football.
Westmeath Senior Football Captain Kevin Maguire says the panel are excited about the challenge posed by Cavan ahead of the first-ever Tailteann Cup Final.
The neighbours meet on Saturday afternoon at Croke Park as part of a double header with the All-Ireland semi-final between Galway and Derry.
It's only the second Championship meeting between the counties, after the first which Cavan won by a point in 2014.
Westmeath Captain and Caulry clubman Kevin Maguire was asked to assess the challenge they face:
Midlands 103 will have live commentary from Croke Park on Saturday in association with McNamee Tyres, Mullingar.
