The blaze broke out in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services attended the scene of a fire in Laois in the early hours of this morning.
The blaze broke just after 12:30am, in a 3 storey apartment just off the R420 Link Road in Portarlington.
Fire crews from Portarlington and Mountmellick quickly contained the fire.
Both people from the apartment received treatment at the scene from the National Ambulance Service.
No injuries have been reported.
And no foul play is suspected at this time.
