GameStop is closing its Irish stores.
The retailer, which operates 35 stores across the country, including in Portlaoise, Mullingar and Athlone, took to social media to announce the news.
The closure follows the company's first profitable quarter in the US in two years, with net income in the fourth quarter of last year at 48.2 million dollars - compared to a net loss of 147.5 million dollars a year prior.
Its launched a closing-down sale, reminding customers that once items are gone, they're gone.
