Offaly continues to offer the best value for prospective home buyers in the midlands, with a €218,000 euro price tag.
That's followed by €260,000 in Laois, and €280,000 in Westmeath.
Nationally, the average cost of a home has breached €300,000 for the first time since 2007.

That's one of the findings of the REA's latest Average House Price Index.
Over a third of sales came from outside their respective counties.
