A man in his 40s has died after an incident in Longford.
A man has died after a workplace accident in the Midlands today.
The man, who was in his 40s, lost his life in the incident at a premises in Ballinalee in Longford.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene at around 11.50am - however the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was removed to the mortuary at the Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar where a post mortem examination is due to take place.
The Health and Safety Authority has been notified and will conduct its own investigation.
A file is being prepared for the Coroner.
