A new unit is due to open at an Athlone secondary to cater for autistic students.
Autistic children in Athlone are still waiting for school places, despite being assured they would be accommodated locally this September.
Six students are due to be catered for in a new additional needs unit in Athlone Community College.
However, parents says no opening date has been given for the unit, while some parents are also still waiting to receive confirmation that their child has secured a place.
