Plans to transform a midlands library into a multi-purpose community space and childcare facility have been approved by a local authority.
The plans for Shinrone Library in Offaly, which has been unoccupied since 2009, are strongly supported by local community groups, including Shinrone Heritage Group and Shinrone Tidy Towns.
New developments will include a childcare room with supporting facilities, a flexible community space, energy upgrades and parking for cars and bikes.
