The group of unions representing workers believes they deserve better.
The group of unions representing Bord na Móna workers says the devil is in the detail regarding Tuesday's announcement.
The semi-state company is re-deploying 350 peat harvesters and making an €18 million contribution to the peatlands restoration project, along with a government investment of €108 million.
However, SIPTU's Willie Noone is highly critical of Bord na Móna's decision to maintain the current employment model.
He says 280 of the 350 staff are seasonal employees with precarious working conditions, and the company is making no effort to change that.
Mr. Noone says, on top of this, workers still haven't received assurance that they won't be let go before Christmas:
