Walsh Cup game Laois v Dublin postponed
Laois face Offaly in Portarlington in the first round of the O'Byrne Cup - this Saturday at 2 o'clock.
Meanwhile, Westmeath travel to Enniscorthy to play Wexford also on Saturday at 2pm.
I've been talking to Gerry Buckley of the Westmeath Examiner about the match and he says that although he wouldn't be in agreement with the early start to the new season, there will be lots of interest in the first outing for Jack Cooney's men:
We will have updates from Gerry on Saturday from Enniscorthy
In hurling action, the Walsh Cup starts next Sunday.
Westmeath are at home to Carlow in Kinnegad At 2pm
The game between Dublin and Laois which was scheduled to take place in Parnell Park on this Sunday
has been postponed.
A new date will be confirmed as soon as possible but it is unlikely to be played until January.
